One in four people will develop a mental health problem at some point during their lives.  Mental distress can range from mild depression or anxiety to conditions such as bipolar disorder (manic depression) or schizophrenia where individuals may experience psychosis.

The Institute of Mental Health was launched in 2006 to help transform our understanding and treatment of mental illness.  We are a partnership between Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust and the University of Nottingham and we are one of the leading mental health institutes in the UK, offering leadership and innovation backed by world class expertise.

We are now accepting entries for our annual Publication Awards, looking to highlight the best publications produced during 2017. Prizes will be presented at the IMH Annual Research Day in May. The Awards aim to celebrate and promote the work of people within Nottinghamshire Healthcare or at the University of Nottingham working in the fields of mental health or learning disability.

Nominations are welcome from all disciplines relevant to these fields. The prize categories are:
• Best overall publication

• Best publication flowing from work during doctoral studies or as part of a doctoral dissertation
• Best publication by an employee of Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust who does not have a substantive contract with a university.
