The Institute of Mental Health's Business Development Office provides a comprehensive and efficient support service for the Institute's research community needs. In addition it ensures compliance with University policy relating to full Economic Costing (fEC) as well as NHS and National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) regulations.

We offer personalised support to the research community through:

  • Identifying all eligible costs within your bid application
  • Obtaining additional costings for equipment, consumables, travel to support delivery of the research project
  • Providing guidance on University and Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust policies relevant to applications
  • Entering costs into pFACT (the University's fEC tool)
  • Liaising with Nottinghamshire Healthcare's finance officer for NHS costs
  • Transferring financial data into sponsor format (Je-S, e-grants etc)
  • Working with other University of Nottingham school administrators for cross-faculty applications
  • Liaising with external collaborators where University of Nottingham or Nottinghamshire Healthcare is a co-applicant
  • Liaising with Research Innovation Services (RIS) for correct and timely submission
