Compassionate Care in the NHS

Our Centre for Social Futures Director Professor Paul Crawford has written an article on compassionate care in the NHS for the Health Service Journal (HSJ).

In his article, Paul argues that whilst discussions around compassion in the NHS continue to focus on nursing, the debate largely ignores its applicability and importance in other sectors of healthcare, including mental health. As Paul writes: "The future of the NHS itself might just hinge on our ability to make compassion and cost-effectiveness go hand in hand".
