National mental health lead visits IMH

The Institute of Mental Health hosted a visit from Dr Geraldine Strathdee, National Clinical Director for Mental Health at NHS England. The visit on Wednesday 30 April was part of a day's tour of Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.

Dr Strathdee was invited to see the Trust's services, facilities and research interests by Professor Mike Cooke CBE, Chief Executive of Nottinghamshire Healthcare (below, left). As well as visits to places such as the Trust's Involvement Centre and Recovery College, Dr Strathdee had a lunchtime discussion with Professor Nick Manning, IMH Director (below, right), and various members of the Institute.

Later in the day Dr Strathdee attended a presentation in the IMH seminar rooms on the latest progress being made by NIHR MindTech, the Healthcare Technology Co-operative that is hosted by the Institute and led by Professor Chris Hollis. This was an opportunity for Dr Strathdee to find out more about MindTech's work following her keynote address at the launch conference of MindTech in London in November 2013.
