The NIHR Clinical Research Network is the clinical research delivery arm of the NHS.
The NIHR CRN: East Midlands is hosted by University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.
The host is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of research in the Trusts, primary care organisations and other qualified NHS providers throughout the East Midlands area.
Whilst Chief Investigators retain overall control and responsibility for their studies, The NIHR CRN: East Midlands provides Research Delivery Officers (RDOs), Research Delivery Nurses (RDNs) and Research Assistants (RAs) who are employees of the Trusts in which the studies are running, to support and facilitate research and support clinicians with recruitment.
RDOs, RDNs and RAs are available to project manage research; to assist clinicians in recruitment to research and will assist with feasibility, set up, publicity, note screening, recruitment, consent, assessments, data collection, data entry, admin, follow up procedures etc.
