The Institute of Mental Health offers a range of Knowledge and Understanding Framework (KUF) for personality disorder training courses to organisations who wish to develop their staff to work more effectively with service users with a diagnosis of personality disorder. The awareness level programme is the foundation element that can provide students with the underpinning knowledge and understanding of personality disorder.

The Institute of Mental Health is an innovative partnership between Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Nottingham. The Institute has supported over 45,000 students through a variety of KUF personality disorder training courses since 2008. A dedicated team oversee the awareness training, and all training is co-delivered by leading practitioners and service user consultants.

Currently our KUF awareness training is funded by Her Majesty's Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) and NHS England. Places are funded for staff who work on the Offender Personality Disorder (OPD) Pathway
