Peer support draws on the strengths of people with lived experience of distress to provide mutual support to people going through similar experiences.

The Peer Support training team has continued to build on its position and expertise as the first nationally validated education provider in the field of peer support training. With an established track record of Open University validated  training, we are now increasingly being asked to provide consultancy support and bespoke training packages. Our latest work is with the Devon and Cornwall Police Force and more information about the success of their new peer support programme can be found in our latest video (right).

The IMH Education team has teamed up with students and staff at the University of Nottingham’s School of Health Sciences to co-design a new, student-led peer support initiative - The Bridge Network. The Peer Support Training team successfully delivered an innovative, validated training course, which prepared the student volunteers to become peer supporters and facilitators of groups. It also involved supporting the group to plan how they would like the support network to run.
