DESCRIPTION:A recently developed approach to help therapists improve\, call
ed deliberate practice\, has been tested and advanced in current research
at the Institute of Mental Health\, led by Dr Sam Malins and the TRIPOD te
am.\nThere can be large differences between psychological therapists in te
rms of how helpful they are for their clients. Psychological therapists do
not get more effective with time or experience\, on average. Deliberate p
ractice uses the same skills applied to improve effectiveness in sports\,
music\, or chess to improve therapy skills. This approach has been enhance
d using machine learning\, by offering therapists automated feedback on cl
ient prognosis using the recordings of their sessions.\nThe TRIPOD project
aimed to develop an automated feedback tool to help monitor and enhance t
he effectiveness of psychological therapies.\nWe are inviting members of t
he public\, clinical staff\, researchers\, and representatives from the he
althcare industry to hear how the project progressed and contribute to dis
cussions of where developments may go next.\nThis event is free\, but plac
es are limited\, so if you would like to attend\, please register via the
Institute of Mental Health website.\n \nWednesday 17th July 2024\n9.30 am
and ends at 12.30 pm\nInstitute of Mental Health\, Jubilee Campus\, Triump
 h Road\, Nottingham\, NG7 2TU\nFace to face presentation followed by a net
