DESCRIPTION:The Institute of Mental Health CPD accredited training programm
 e for Patient and Public Involvement (PPI). This programme has been design
 ed to increase knowledge of active researchers and colleagues in health an
 d care research and provide time for you to engage and build your collecti
 ve confidence in a shared learning space.\nPatient and Public Involvement 
 (PPI) has exploded within research conversations over the last decade and 
 now funders\, research leads\, institutions and patient groups expect to s
 ee genuine\, well thought out Patient and Public Involvement within health
  and care research. This programme has been designed to help you consider 
 and embed quality PPI within your systems so you can incorporate living ex
 periences\, peer researchers and patient and public contributors to improv
 e relevance\, acceptability and accessibility of your health and care rese
 arch.\n \nWho is the course for?\nThis programme is aimed at anyone who fe
 els they need to begin or develop their early Patient and Public Involveme
 nt (PPI) knowledge and are looking for detailed learning & development in 
 this area of their work.\nThe programme considers the experience of PPI fr
 om the perspective of researchers delivering what is asked of them. From i
 nitial understanding through to exploring detailed scenarios and working w
 ith compassion and understanding in their work.\nIf you’re not sure if thi
 s course is for you then we’d love to hear from you and we can talk about 
 some of the content\, feasibility for your own context and look at alterna
 tive options for your progress in this area.\n \nInformation about the cou
 rse:\n\nOur training programme consists of five online 2-hour sessions ove
 r a 5-week period with topic specific sessions each week.\nThe programme h
 as a strong focus on practical learning outcomes\, peer connections and op
 portunities to engage with the content of the programme in the context of 
 your own work.\nEach programme cohort will have a maximum occupancy of 12 
 participants to allow for learning and networking with others throughout t
 he programme\nOne session within the programme will be dedicated to smalle
 r group learning and exploration of your own work and your own ambitions f
 or PPI.\nThe programme is costed at £250 per participant and includes 10 h
 ours live learning\, post session self-guided learning and an end of progr
 amme handbook.\nThis programme is equivalent to 10 live learning CPD hours
  as a minimum for your own professional development.\nThe programme is del
 ivered online by the Institute of Mental Health using Microsoft Teams\n\nT
 he programme sessions are delivered live on the following dates:\n\nSessio
 n 1: Wednesday 10th September\nSession 2: Wednesday 17th September\nSessio
 n 3: Wednesday 24th September\nSession 4: Wednesday 1st October or Friday 
 3rd OctoberThis session will be delivered as a collaborative\, smaller gro
 up session to allow for time and space for training participants to develo
 p in their own subject and topics. As this will involve smaller groups\, w
 e will split the participant group over 3 smaller group sessions. We will 
 confirm which date / session to the participants on confirmation of your p
