This month one of the Clinical Researchers from MindTech, Bethan Davies, smashed her personal best running record and all in aid of Tourettes Action.

Over the past year, Bethan Davies (Clinical Researcher in the MindTech team based at the Institute of Mental Health) has been leading on the ORBIT study, a new project evaluating a new online treatment for kids and teenagers who have tics or Tourette syndrome (or TS for short).

TS is an inherited neurological condition. It affects one school child in every hundred and is more common amongst boys. Over 300,000 children and adults are living with TS in the UK.

Tourettes Action is the UK's leading charity supporting children with TS - and helps their families too. This year, they are running #MoveForTourettes, a virtual event to support International TS Awareness Day on 7th June - where people all over the world will be joining together to raise awareness of Tourette Syndrome!

Last October Bethan broke her foot and was out of action for a few months. She has been slowly gotten back into running this year, so on behalf of the ORBIT team and to say thanks to Tourettes Action for their support, Bethan participated in the #MoveForTourettes campaign at a local park run on Saturday 9th June.

If you could like to donate to Tourettes Action, Bethan has set up a Just Giving for her #MoveForTourettes event - https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/orbit-study  - every penny helps to support their work.
