Currently the Interim Head of Research and Operations for the Institute, as well as Head of Communications, Lou takes responsibility for co-ordinating the organisation, operational leadership, management, and performance of the Institute of Mental Health. She supports the Director of the Institute, in the development and implementation of the Institute’s strategic vision.  

A passionate communicator, Lou Rudkin brings over 20 years of public sector communications experience and over five years working in research at the Institute of Mental Health.

In her role as Head of Communications, Lou is responsible for the communications strategy, delivery, team, brand and profile for the Institute, Lou’s work takes many shapes and forms – from creating new community projects to disseminating mental health research, to delivering major academic conferences and curating tweets. Working with a diverse range of people, Lou’s work reaches an ever-growing audience and continues to develop the scope and recognition of the Institute’s research. Lou is also a visiting lecturer for Nottingham Trent University Business School’s Department of Marketing and NTU School of Art & Design.
