Chris Hollis is the Director of the NIHR MindTech MedTech Co-operative and Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Nottingham and Consultant in Developmental Neuropsychiatry with Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

Chris's main areas of interest include ADHD, Tourette syndrome, early onset schizophrenia and the development and implementation of digital technologies to enhance assessment and monitoring of mental health disorders. Chris was a member of the NICE Guideline Development Group (GDG) for ADHD (2005-8), NICE ADHD Quality Standard Advisory Committee (2012-13) and chaired the NICE GDG for schizophrenia and psychosis in children and young people.

MindTech is a national centre focussing on the development, adoption and evaluation of new technologies for mental healthcare and dementia. Established in 2013 it is funded by the National Institute for Healthcare Research to work in partnership with healthcare professionals, patients and the public, researchers and industry. MindTech is one of 11 MedTech and In-vitro diagnostic Co-operatives (MICs) funded by the NIHR each focusing on a different clinical area. 

Chris is currently leading the ORBIT study, which is evaluating a remote digital intervention for children and young people with tics and Tourette syndrome. He is Principal Investigator on the UKRI funded Digital Youth programme, examining the major societal challenge of building a safe and supportive online environment to protect and promote young people’s mental health.

Chris also leads the Mental Health and Technology theme of the NIHR Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre.
