The Aardman animated 'What's Up With Everyone?' campaign, led by Professor Paul Crawford of the Institute of Mental Health, has won the Design Week 2021 Award for Social Media and Content.

Funded by the Arts and Humanitites Research Council, the campaign was created with and for 17-24 year olds, producing a series of short films on common themes affecting young people's mental health, including loneliness, perfectionism, competitiveness, independence and social media. Professor Crawford worked with University of Nottingham colleagues Dr Elvira Perez Vallejos, Sachiyo ito-Jaegar and collaborative partners Loughborough University, LSE, the Mental Health Foundation, Happy Space and Dr Dominique Thompson.

The campaign has reached over 5 million people online, with the most viewed films being on the themes of perfectionism and loneliness. A companion website provides additional resources, delivering a timely avenue of support for young people facing the additional burden of social isolation.

Congratulations to Professor Crawford and the WUWE team.
