MIDDEL is a research project investigating music interventions to reduce depression symptoms in people living with dementia.

It's an international multi-centre cluster-randomised controlled trial, running in Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Turkey, Australia and the UK.

The UK team will be responsible for the Public Involvement (PPI) aspect of the study, and will work with local groups of people with experience of dementia and dementia care to raise awareness of the project. The template for PPI involvement will then be implemented in each participating country by local researchers with support from UoN.

In the UK, the study is sponsored by the University of Nottingham and funded through the United Kingdom Research and Innovation (UKRI) Medical Research Council (MRC) under the aegis of the EU Joint Programme – Neurodegenerative Disease Research (JPND).
