The PRIDE-app is an interactive online handbook for people and their families living with mild dementia which promotes positive physical, mental and social health.

Use of the app is supported through three sessions with a Dementia Advisor who works collaboratively with users to identify activity plans, social participation needs and encourages users to set activity goals.

The PRIDE-app provides information on a range of topics, such as understanding a dementia diagnosis, decision-making and keeping healthy, with users able to personalise which topics to focus on. Activity plans and goals relevant to these topics are recorded through the app and users are encouraged to work on their goals in-between the three sessions.

The PRIDE-app study, funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Applied Research Collaboration East Midlands (ARC EM), will explore the potential reach, adoption and effectiveness of the PRIDE-app in promoting positive behaviour change, improving the self-management of dementia, and providing people with the skills and knowledge to help them maintain their independence for as long as possible.
