Speaker: Dr Ben Hicks

Presented by Dr Ben Hicks, who will discuss initial insights into the socio-demographic characteristics that may result in an early vs late and timely vs untimely diagnosis as well as the potential associations diagnostic timing has for the well-being and life quality of newly diagnosed people with dementia and their carers.

Dr Ben Hicks is a Principal Research Fellow at Nottingham University and Programme Manager for DETERMIND; an ESRC/NIHR funded cohort that examines and addresses inequalities and inequities in the post-diagnostic dementia care pathway. Ben's talk will draw on DETERMIND baseline data, consisting of 930 newly diagnosed people with dementia and 700 carers who completed comprehensive questionnaires concerning their experiences of the post-diagnostic care journey and the impact on their well-being and life quality.
