Speaker: Dr Breno Diniz

Dr Breno Diniz is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry in the University of Connecticut Health Center. Dr. Diniz is a geriatric psychiatrist and earned his PhD in Clinical Neuroscience. His work is focused on understanding the mechanisms of late-life neuropsychiatric disorders. In this presentation, Dr. Diniz will examine the mechanisms by which a history of major depression can increase the risk of Alzheimer’s disease and Related Dementia and potential avenues for prevention of Alzheimer's disease and Related Dementia in this population. Dr Diniz is an invited speaker from the Universitas 21 (U21) Dementia Community of Practice. The U21 Dementia Community of Practice was initiated by University of Nottingham Centre for Dementia colleagues Dr Mattea Finelli, Aysegul Kafadar and Dr Esther Loseto-Gerritzen.
