Professor Maddie Groom

Professor Maddie Groom is Professor in Neurodevelopmental Conditions at the Institute of Mental Health.

Maddie’s programme of research seeks to uncover the neurocognitive basis of neurodevelopmental disorders and apply these findings to clinical practice. A key focus of this research is to identify the mechanisms underpinning comorbidity between ADHD and autism spectrum conditions using techniques including cognitive testing, brain imaging and eye-tracking.

Maddie is Director of the Institute's Centre for ADHD and Neuro-developmental Disorders Across the Lifespan (CANDAL) and collaborates on NIHR MindTech research.
