Lucy Webster

Lucy is a Research Fellow in the Biomedical Research Centre Health and Technology Neuromodulation Theme.

Her research focuses on developing and optimising non-invasive neuromodulation approaches for affective disorders, particularly depression and anxiety. She is especially interested in combining transcranial electrical stimulation (tES) with transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) to enhance therapeutic efficacy. Her current work involves developing a simultaneous dual-site, dual-device neuromodulation protocol that combines transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) with TMS for the treatment of anxiety disorders. She is also investigating temporal interference stimulation as a novel priming approach to enhance the therapeutic effects of TMS in depression. To better understand the mechanisms underlying these interventions, Lucy integrates electroencephalography (EEG), autonomic, and behavioural measures to characterise the neural and physiological responses to brain stimulation.
