We are supporting colleagues from the NIHR ARC East Midlands with this study examining facilitators and barriers to forensic staff seeking mental wellbeing support at work.

The work, led by Professor Richard Morriss and Dr Elena Nixon, is an extension to a previous study of an online mindfulness-based cognitive interventions for healthcare and other public care staff, in which it was noted that very few forensic staff participated. The current study will therefore seek to understand this, and will explore qualitatively factors affecting mental wellbeing, work performance, and uptake of mental wellbeing support at work, in professionals working in offender health and forensic healthcare settings.
