Consultant Paediatrician (Neurodevelopmental disorders) at the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust since 2004. She has special interest in Tic disorders, ADHD and Epilepsy and did acquire clinical experience and training at the Tourette clinic in Great Ormond Street Hospital. 

She has continued to provide clinical assessments and treatment for children with Tic disorders.

Dr Takon conducted a study on Premonitory Urges in Tic disorders in children aged 6-10 years as part of her dissertation for the MSc Clinical Neuropsychiatry course at the University of Birmingham in 2014. She has also given talks on Tic disorders to trainees, clinicians, parents and educational staff. Dr Takon is involved in Undergraduate medical and Postgraduate Paediatric training. She is The Quality and Training Adviser on the Child Mental Health Specialist Advisory Committee, RCPCH and Lead for the Special Interest Programme  (SPIN) in Child Mental Health through the RCPCH. She has served as Specialist Expert on NICE Quality Standards group for FASD and is also CAMHS Liaison for the Community Paediatrics  Department at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust.

Dr Takon has presented posters on tic disorders at local and international meetings. She has also co-authored a book on Tic disorders.
