Professor Maddie Groom contributed to an article by Medscape, 'Will Tourette’s Care Soon Get a Makeover?', discussing the future of Tourette's care and the INTEND project. 

Around 300,000 people in the UK live with Tourette syndrome. Until now, support for the condition has been limited. This may soon change, as the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) is evaluating two technologically-aided treatment options that could boost access to care. Maddie Groom, professor of neurodevelopmental conditions at the University of Nottingham and Director of the Centre for CANDAL told Medscape News UK that 'referrals for tics are declined in many parts of the country. Instead, families are signposted to third sector support such as charities and support groups that cannot make diagnoses or offer treatment.'
